Ferrite Magnets
Ferrite magnets, also known as ceramic magnets, are composed of iron oxide (Fe2O3) combined with either barium carbonate (BaCO3) or strontium carbonate (SrCO3). They are the most common type of permanent magnet due to their low cost, high magnetic stability, and resistance to corrosion.
Properties:
Ferrite magnets have lower magnetic strength compared to neodymium magnets but offer excellent resistance to demagnetization and corrosion.
They are brittle and prone to chipping or breaking, so care must be taken when handling and machining them.
